Integrative Nutrition

  • The session will address a discussion on wellness, and how it is much more than physical activity and food.

In Integrative Nutrition, we consider one’s wellness in 3 ways:

    1.        Bio-individuality – one person’s food is another person's poison.

    2.       Primary food – the foods that are not on the plate.

4 main categories in one’s life - relationships, career, physical activity, and spirituality. Then we further divide these into subcategories.

    3.       Secondary food - the foods that are on the plate.

Through recognizing patterns in the primary food and certain habits and beliefs, we are able to understand and therefore change our choices of secondary food.

There are many factors that lead us to choose certain foods, including health, lifestyle, environment, physiology, psychology, society, culture, economy, personal belief system, food relationship, and knowledge about food.

Nourishment happens on different levels, so when thinking about secondary food, it’s important to go back to primary food. It’s an incredibly eye-opening process and a huge part of wellness.

We look forward to collaborating with Ella for this enlightening session!
